RE: Huntingwood Trail East OLT – Expert Witness Support
On behalf of the Blue Mountain Watershed Trust Foundation (aka ‘Trust’), I would like to extend the Board of Directors’ sincere gratitude to GREENLAND® for its exemplary technical support on the recent Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) case.
GREENLAND® was retained to develop a defendable, 2-dimensional hydraulic model of the Silver Creek system with many accompanying spills, and in the vicinity of the proposed development. Your firm’s expertise and proficiency with 2-D hydraulic modelling - floodplain management projects were also instrumental in achieving an amicable solution with the developer’s engineering team lead. The solution will now protect residents and property from increased flooding impacts associated with the original subdivision plan (and for only this development phase).
This included your impeccable team to always maintain prompt communication between the OLT parties, and providing staff expertise and support for a concurrent public engagement by the Trust. Your team’s attention to detail and cross-functional collaboration approach was also key to identifying an amicable solution by all parties of the OLT, and as part of an OLT Settlement.
Mark, it was a pleasure to work with GREENLAND® on this file. Thank you also to your team.

Credit Valley Conservation
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your work on the Brampton “Pond 10 Floating Islands Research Project”. This project was a “first of its kind” within our watershed.
Greenland was responsible for preparing the design brief for the islands that provided details on the anchoring system design, safety considerations and a strategy for establishing a vegetation community among other things. This was a challenging project given that there was no pre-established process to follow and therefore we were defining the design and implementation process from scratch.
Greenland was always very responsive when issues arose and helped us troubleshoot options to solve the issue. They refined the design brief and assisted CVC with implementing improved anchor designs that have been successful in keeping the islands stable over the past few years even though some extreme weather events.
We were very pleased with the consulting services Greenland provided for this project.

Six Nations Council
On behalf of the Environment Office of the Six Nations of the Grand River, we would like to thank Greenland International Consulting Limited for the work completed to prepare the Master Drainage and Flood Remediation Plan (MDFRP) for the McKenzie Creek watershed. This plan has now enabled our office to identify the flood prone residences throughout the watershed with the flood plain mapping that has been prepared as part of this assignement. We appreciate the role that Greenland has played in assisting our office in directing Public Works with prioritizing the remedial projects to be completed in the flood prone areas.
We also appreciate Greenland's effort in assisting the Six Nations of the Grand River with the preparation of funding applications to secure the resources to complete these remedial works. We are convinced that this MDFRP can be used as a template for completing similar drainage and flood remediation works both locally and in other First Nations lands.
We look forward to working with your company again in the near future on the remaining watersheds that need this important work done.
Thank you for your ongoing assistance.
